Great packaging. Easy setup... I will say that I looked at the Acmer software and kind of quickly decided to pay for lightburn. I tried the Kraft Paper first and could instantly see the possibilities. Small footprint on the work space.
I would easily given 5 stars but I feel the website is somewhat miss leading with thickness of cut. Website states much thicker that the documentation says that comes with the engraver.
It engraves and cuts thin plywood, birchwood, leather beautifully. It marks Anodized Aluminum nicely as well.
If buying this, also consider the smoke air purifier. I thought I had an exhaust system good enough and I was wrong, and if your house is attached to your garage... doing it in the garage isn't going to be good enough either.
So far, so good. Recommended settings in the manual working just fine. Bought it for the portability and compactness.
I decided to give this machine a full 5 stars because, for this price point, the performance is honestly impressive. It does exactly what I need without breaking the bank.
Here is why I recommend it:
1. Safety First: This was my top priority. The safety feature is excellent—the laser pauses immediately if the machine is opened or moved/tilted. It feels very secure to use.
2. Great Cutting Power: The 7W laser is stronger than I expected. It slices through 2mm basswood easily and cleanly.
3. Value for Money: You get a lot of capability for the cost. It's a great entry point for anyone interested in laser engraving/cutting.
A wish for the future:
I hope the manufacturer can release a matching cutting plate (honeycomb bed) and make spare parts/accessories easier to buy on acmerlaser.com. I would definitely purchase them to upgrade my setup!
Perfect for small business. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a professional touch to their DIY projects. Just be prepared to spend a little time on test cuts to master the depth and speed – it's worth it!
The packaging was awesome, efficient and stable. I tried the nozzle, and it can easily accommodate different surfaces. The 7w is pretty powerful and the only limitation might be the size it can cut. a bit small
